Philanthropy: The new growth sector.....or just a fashionable trend - 05.07.2016

Reporting from the Philanthropy Adviser Event held on 5 July, 2016

During the next 30 years, we will be experiencing the largest wealth transfer between generations that has ever happened before and Europe is at the center of this development. Kristina Vayda, adviser in philanthropy and the charitable sector, believes that this will have a major impact in terms of the growth in philanthropic engagement. Kristina Vayda had been invited by the Fondation de Luxembourg to share the outcome of her recent research in the area of philanthropy and wealth management at the HEC business school in Paris. In her presentation, she talked about the opportunities this would mean for wealth management and about the new approaches in philanthropy comparing the different models of Europe and North America.

“People’s choice of philanthropy is determined by what has happened to them in their life and the millennials are more socially minded than their parents, Kristina Vayda.”

Following her presentation, Nicolas Vernier from the Fondation de Luxembourg gave an update of the activities and perspectives in light of its newly released 2015 Annual Report.
