Art Panel – TEFAF Maastricht - 18.03.2016

Event organized in Maastricht by the Luxembourg Art Law and Art & Finance Association, LAFA

On March 18th, 2016, Fondation de Luxembourg participated in a panel organised by the Luxembourg Art Law and Art & Finance Association, LAFA. The event took place in Maastricht at the European Fine Art Foundation, TEFAF in the presence of Guy Arendt, Luxembourgish Secretary of State for Culture.

 

Alain Mestat, President of LAFA, gave a welcome speech and introduced the moderatorAndré Prüm, Professor of Law at the University of Luxembourg, andthe panel composed of :

 

  •  David Maria: Wildgen, Partners in Law
  •  Tonika Hirdman: Director General of Fondation de Luxembourg
  •  Alex Schmitt: Managing Partner Bonn & Schmitt
  •  Edouard d’Anterroches: Arendt & Medernach

As part of the panel, Tonika Hirdman discussed the goals and benefits of an art foundation, stressing that overall it is about sharing a passion with a wider audience. For that purpose, Luxembourg and the Fondation de Luxembourg presents many advantages for collectors interested in engaging in art philanthropy. The stability of Luxembourg, both economically and politically, the strong and international financial centre, a multilingual environment and a dedicated platform, the Fondation de Luxembourg, makes the country a place of choice for setting up an art foundation.
