Completed Project

Bringing stories to life with a local literary festival

Created in 2020, the Etrange Grande Association organises an annual thematic literature festival in Hettange-Grande, France. This free event is designed as a pop culture event, appealing to a broader audience coming from across the Grand Est region. By connecting literature with popular culture, it aims to bring together a vibrant community of book lovers as well as the uninitiated, by making literature as fun and accessible as possible.

Each year, a new genre and an associated major author is chosen as the focus, with a spotlight being also placed on up-and-coming authors as a way to showcase creativity and hear from new voices.

In 2025, the Fantasy genre - often underestimated - was selected as the thematic focus of the festival, with Anne Rice being chosen as the featured author. Held from 20-21 September, the festival welcomed 7,000 visitors and featured a varied programme of roundtable discussions, performances, and workshops.
