Pursuing a university education can open doors for students and help their personal and professional development. Unfortunately, however, some students face significant economic burdens that can put their ability to finish their studies at risk. While some sources of funding are available, they remain insufficient to meet the needs of all those in need.
By supporting the University of Luxembourg's Student Hardship Fund, approximately 200 Bachelors, Masters and self-funded PhD students will be able to benefit from two different types of support. The first is a food voucher programme, whereas the second is emergency financial aid to cover essential housing and food expenses, urgent medical costs, or urgent travel home in case of unexpected crises or family tragedies. The University distributes this financial based purely on demonstrated financial need, regardless of gender, nationality, field of study, or other personal characteristics.
