Activating exchanges between the cultural sector and scientific research

Artists and scientists traditionally occupy very different spaces, but when they collaborate, the results can be unexpectedly powerful.

In an effort to bridge these two worlds, and at the same time accelerate visual arts education in Luxembourg, a first of its kind artist-in-residence programme was created by the Casino forum d'art contemporain and the University of Luxembourg.

This initiative has created a genuine synergy between the artistic and academic worlds, offering an environment conducive to
an unprecedented and diverse cultural dynamic in which students and artists actively contribute to interdisciplinary research and artistic production.

The first residency of 2024 featured Max Kreis (1990, Wiesbaden) engaging with researchers from the Luxembourg Center for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) to explore the intersection between art and science, particularly in the fields of neuroscience and artificial intelligence.
