Delivering healthcare with a mobile clinic in Alexandria

In Alexandria, Egypt’s second-largest city, many low-income communities continue to face significant barriers to accessing quality and comprehensive healthcare services. Recognizing that universal healthcare coverage is essential for wellbeing and sustainable development, a local organization has stepped in to address this gap through an innovative mobile healthcare model. By deploying a fleet of fully equipped mobile clinics, the organization delivers free, high-quality medical care directly to vulnerable populations, including adults, youth, and children living in underserved neighborhoods.

Thanks to the Estafanos Beshay Fund for Vulnerable Children, a new mobile clinic was acquired to serve poor neighbourhoods across Alexandria. Following the identification and purchase of a suitable vehicle to house the clinic, the Fund supported the purchase of essential medical equipment, which will help medical specialists deliver dental, ophthalmological, ENT, and internal medicine care.
