For the most vulnerable members of society, self-care and relaxation often take a back seat to the daily struggle for survival. Without the opportunity to properly care for their bodies and mental health, chronic stress and anxiety can intensify everyday challenges.
Based on the principle that a healthy connection between body and mind can reduce stress and improve self-esteem, this project led by Sourrire asbl provides vulnerable people, particularly women living on the streets, single mothers, traumatized migrants, and homeless people, with the services of a massage therapist who has already demonstrated sensitivity and professionalism with these populations.
A wide range of therapeutic interventions, tailored to the needs of people in precarious situations, is available. These include therapeutic massage, reflexology, guided meditation, gentle pilates, relaxation circles, and group breathing exercises. By removing the financial barrier to these activities, the project aims not only to reduce chronic stress and anxiety among vulnerable individuals, but also to provide a space for care, calm, and human connection. In doing so, physical health and social inclusion become the driving force behind the restoration of self-esteem and a strong connection between body and mind.
