Enriching Luxembourg's musical landscape with the Solistes Européens orchestra

The orchestra Solistes Européens, Luxembourg (SEL) is made up of musicians from the finest orchestras in Europe. Since its first concert on 22 September 1989, the orchestra has been meeting regularly in Luxembourg for rehearsals, concerts, and recordings. Known for its original and cutting-edge programming, music director and principal conductor Christoph König juxtaposes major works of the classical repertoire with unfamiliar or unknown works, creating surprising and thought-provoking connections.

Each SEL season includes concerts showcasing promising young talents both from Luxembourg and abroad, most notably in their Camerata (chamber music) cycle at the Philharmonie. The SEL also performs the works of Luxembourg composers on a regular basis. Another vital part of their approach is to work with schools to bring music closer to children.

Support for the 24/25 and 25/26 seasons helps to ensure that these activities can continue to enrich Luxembourg's cultural landscape.
