The Schleich-Lentz house in Limpertsberg is welcoming its first students

A 2-year renovation has transformed the ‘Maison Schleich-Lentz’ from a single-family home into affordable housing for up to 8 students from the University of Luxembourg.

The Fondation Schleich-Lentz was created by Mrs. Antoinette Schleich-Lentz, with the aim of supporting access to quality housing for students from the University of Luxembourg. At the time of her passing in 2016, she bequeathed her home in Limpertsberg to her foundation with the intent that it be converted into student housing.

Renovation work began by first clearing out the contents of the home, including her expansive collection of art objects and paintings. Many of the paintings were by her late father, Corneille Lentz, a well-known Luxembourg artist, and were donated to local museums.

After significant remodeling, the Maison Schleich-Lentz now counts 6 individual bedrooms and a shared bedroom, communal spaces, as well as an art studio. Located in the center of Luxembourg in the attractive Limpertsberg neighborhood, the house started welcoming its first students in November 2020.
