2023 Science for Society Prize Empowering Evidence-Informed Public Debates

Science for Society Foundation

An initiative of the Science for Society Foundation, under the aegis of Fondation de Luxembourg.

 

The prize will reward a project, an action, or a set of activities already carried out that have enabled the general public to:

 

  • Reveal, explain and put scientific evidence into context in public debate and/or
  • Understand and develop critical thinking based on scientific facts, and/or
  • Debunk fake news or associated communications linked to societal issues thanks to a scientific demonstration and/or exceptional communication efforts

 

 

The Science for Society Prize amounts to EUR 5,000.

 

The Science for Society Foundation will allocate the award to laureates during a special ceremony and will also promote and publicize the laureates and their achievements.

 

A jury composed of independent external experts will select the laureate, which may be either an individual or a group. The Application Guidelines are available here.

 

Applicants must first submit their intention of application in writing to project.request@fdlux.lu, subject heading "Science for Society 2023". The information to be provided from the applicants in the email are: Name, Surname, Title, Position, Institution / Organization, Postal Address, Phone Number, Email, Project title and text presenting your project/activity/initiative in a synthetic way (Max 1500 Characters).

 

EXTENDED DEADLINE: All intentions to apply must be received within the period of pre-submission, before 24 November 2023, 14:00 CET.

 

Applicants will then receive a link to access the Online Application Form with a Log-in ID and Password. After accessing this form, applicants must complete their FULL APPLICATION via the Online Application Form by 1 December 2023, 14:00 CET, at the latest. Please take careful note of the deadlines for both the intention to apply and the full application.
